The Meltemi is a dry, seasonal wind that sweeps across the Aegean Sea during Greece's summer months. When it blows, it turns Naxos into a multi-sport water arena.

The packing strategy is simple: travel light. Load two kite sizes (9m and 12m), one board, a harness, and a changing mat into a single 70L duffel, staying well under airline weight limits. On the water, the wind shifts rapidly. Mornings are often dead calm, providing the perfect window to check gear setups. By 2 PM, the thermals kick in, blowing beach gusts upwards of 22 knots.

Field Tip: Always use a changing mat on the sand. The gravel lots and dry volcanic sand in Naxos can cause micro-scratches on neoprene and easily tear drybag seals when rigging.
